Update 2004.07.22 - Fart

Worst update title yet? You'll be the judge about this one. :)

There's a new midi added up the midis page. This is probably one of the most straight-ahead songs I composed since a while, although it bears little ressemblance to my former work, save for the bizarre drum tracks that invade most of my tracks now. Anyway, do listen to it. :)

I've also started work on a new game although right now, I just can't quite talk about it. I want to keep the project as a surprise for the while being and besides, work on it won't advance much until POC2 gets out, which is incredibly likely to get out this year. Yeah, really! :)

Time to conclude the update. Before finishing it, I leave to you the best site to visit if you ever want to laugh or cry to death: The Ultimate Bad Joke Archive! Muhahahaw!

Bye!

Update 2004.07.06 - You killed my father and you're coming back to take me!

Weee! The site is now finally back up! Well, this little site outage has taught me to go ahead and renew my domain before it expires and not the opposite. It's quite messy indeed. :p

During this unplanned site outage, work on POC2 has been made and I'm currently making the final boss battle. With that done, all that shall remain to make for the game to get released is the game's final cutscenes and you'll finally be able to play it. I'll be worth the extra long wait, I tell you. :)

As for right now, I have a new midi up for grabs in the midis page which turns out to be a mixture of ambient, ethnic music and tribal all rolled into one. Quite an interesting experiment indeed. Go listen it now in the midis section. :)

All for today, see ya!

Update 2004.06.18 - The battle between Good and Evil...

Time for a new update. I've added two new midis up the midis page, one of which is another post-rock influenced song and the other an ambient electronic tune, both of which features fucked up percussion from yours truly. Make sure you do check them out.

A couple of new sites have been added up the links page today, too. First on the list is spgames.tk, a site from a newcomer in the SPG community which released a quite nice demo from an upcoming game called "Zombies Ate South Park". The other site is a whacked out, totally insane site which offer MIDIs that test the limits of listenablity and the MIDI format itself. Check out Tostik Groisard.

As you might know, there's an atrocious movie that has came out recently which go by the name of Garfield: The Movie. As a move of protest against this movie and the new, absolutely crappy official website, I decided to remove the website off my links page. If you know the value of brain cells, just don't go see that movie. Thanks. :)

All for now, see ya later!

Update 2004.05.21 - Minor Colaworm update, new midi file, award!

New update. Jussi discovered that the latest Colaworm version we've released shipped with an out-of-date CNCS232.DLL file, thus creating some problems with that new version. If you downloaded Colaworm 1.2 before, just download this small patch here. If not, you should download the latest Colaworm version if you never downloaded it before. It's a truly kickass Snake clone that needs to be checked out. :)

A new midi has also been placed on the midis page, too. I have to say this is quite a relief from my previously-released cacophonic masterpiece Blurgh. This is an orchestral, epic instrumental song with some vague rock overtones. It's probably amongst the best tunes I've made yet this year.

And at last, but not least, this site managed to win it's first award ever! Wormmaster, from collective finnish site Blood Software, decided to award Cartman Force Arena as their best game of the week. It's definitely cool to see that some people did liked it, at least. :) You can see the award it received by clicking here.

That's it for today's update, bye!

Update 2004.05.12 - The Lost Kids finally make it to the first level!

Time for a new quick update. Over the past months, I've gotten quite many emails from people not being able to make it through the very first cutscene. I've just uploaded a new version of the game that allow you to bypass that frame and go straight to the first level. Just press the SPACEBAR in the first cutscene frame before the UFO gets to arrive. Sorry to everyone who got bugged by that problem.

If you have the game's latest version (to know which TLK version you do have, check the game executable's icon: the most recent version of the game has a Stan icon), you won't need to download the whole game again, just make with the clicking here. This small patch (234k) will successfully update the program. If you have an older version of the game, you'll need to fully download it again.

All for today, bye!

Update 2004.05.03 - Blurgh!!

Hello there, new update time! I've slowly unleashed through the Internet a new musical terror which will be referred to as Blurgh. This is a massive, 45 minute long ditty that feature an almost endless assemblage of bells and chimes slowly becoming more distorted and crazy as the song progresses. See if you can fully stomach it by yourself by checking down the midis page!

Progress on POC2 is coming along in a steady way, too. There's actually not a whole lot left to do and with summer vacation coming in, work on it will obviously pick up. I even expect the game to be actually finished before school begins again, so that's something! :)

On another note, I now have a new email adress. If you want to contact me, I'd suggest all of you to use this new, spiffy email adress which is:

thejunkman (at) az-man (dot) com

Hopefully you'll have the required smarts to write down this email in your email program whenever you try emailing me. If not, then (at) stands for '@' and dot for... do I really need to tell that? :)

Update time is now done! See you all!

Update 2004.04.12 - I've got something in my pocket...

New update time. There's not a lot to report today game-wise, although I've added a couple of brand new midis down the 2004 midis section. Make sure you go check them out. :)

In order to finish this short update and in the hopes to lengthen it a bit, I'd like to say that pancakes are better than waffles. Even though it's not related to the site at all, it needed to be said. Sorry. :p

All for today, see you in a new update!

Update 2004.04.02 - April's Fools!

Just in case it wasn't obvious enough, the last update of the site was (of course) an April's Fools prank. Rest assured that this game isn't in the works and has never been so (although I really should ponder that idea more, it looked interesting, hey? Okay, I'll shut up. :)) plus POC2 isn't cancelled and is being worked on. The cutscenes are coming along nicely and the bulk of it is now done. No release date yet to be announced though, sorry. :)

Of course, the game info has been reupdated and it actually feature new info about the game that wasn't previously there, so feel free to read it out. :)

All for today, see you around!

Update 2004.04.01 - Oh my...

Wow, it's been a while since the site's last update. I'd have liked doing this update with more cheerful news, but I unfortunately can't. My harddrive has crashed yesterday and I've actually lost all of the progress I've been doing on POC2 since it's last backup, which hasn't been done since a while. This means that the game will now be cancelled with no possibility of being resumed. Sorry to all of those who waited for that game. :(

Trying to forget about this dreadful event certainly was hard, but I've managed to start a new project in order to compensate for that loss. It's actually my most ambitious project so far, it's an hybrid RPG platformer game featured in a fantasy setting. It's highly interactive and the levels are filled with amounts of small details that really bring it to life, it really feels like you're there for real! There's also no possibility of you being stranger to that strong world, the game features a built-in encyclopedia that defines every element of the universe. It has a unique sense of humor, too.

Most of these elements aren't fully implented in the game, but I've got enough progress done to warrant a screenshot. It will show off the first level layout and most of the features I've described there. Make with the clicking here.

Time to conclude this update. Please tell me what you think of that new project, I really want feedback on this one. This game will be as good, if not better than POC2 so rest assured folks. Time to sign out, talk to all of you later. Take care.

Update 2004.02.26 - Are you thirsty? We are!

Hello there, new update time! Me and my friend Jussi have been busy lately working on a new patch for Colaworm. This little patch further lessen the difficulty setting of the level mode and it features some minor bug fixes there and there, alongside with some sound effects' changes as well. If you've never ever played this game, download it now! Not only this is an awesome Snake clone, but it's a mere 1.4 megs download as well. :)

There's a new midi on the midis page as well. It's sort of a mixture of rock music with some classical undertones that features a tense feel. It's not perfect on any means, but it's a good start. Make sure you go listen to it. :)

This is everything for now, see you later!

See you later!
